The World Bank Group's efforts to promote gender equality in client countries are long standing. Between 2007 and 2010, as part of the Bank's work on gender, the Gender Action Plan (GAP) worked to advance women's economic empowerment by funding gender-informed operational and analytical work in the Bank's economic sectors. The plan, Gender Equality as Smart Economics, focused primarily on labor, land and agriculture, private sector development, and infrastructure.
The GAP database provides information on more than 270 GAP-funded activities. Use the interactive maps to learn more about country-specific initiatives or take advantage of the advanced search to find detailed information by region, thematic area, and activity type.
